Fix Toolbar problems

If you're having trouble using Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer, the fixes listed below can usually solve the problem. Try step 1 first. If that doesn't work, move on to the next step, and so on.

Step 1: Update Toolbar

Make sure you're using the latest version of Toolbar. You can reinstall the latest version of Toolbar from our homepage. That way, you'll have the most recent updates and fixes.

Step 2: Update Internet Explorer

To help make sure you have the latest security updates for your computer, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Windows Start button.
  2. Click All Programs.
  3. Click Windows Update.
  4. If any security updates are needed, you'll be asked to install them.

You can also reinstall the latest version of Internet Explorer to make sure you have the most recent updates and fixes for Internet Explorer.

Step 3: Turn off all other add-ons

Toolbar is an add-on for Internet Explorer. Sometimes, it might not work with other add-ons on your browser.

Here's how to turn off other add-ons:

  1. Click the Internet Explorer Tools menu at the top of your screen.
  2. From the menu, select Manage Add-ons.
  3. Select an add-on, then click Disable.
  4. Repeat step 3 for all add-ons except Google Toolbar. 
  5. Click Close.

If the problem is fixed, go back and turn on each add-on one at a time. This should help you find which add-on caused the problem.

Step 4: Delete your browsing history
