You can change the order of your tasks, or move them to a different list.
On your Android phone, download the Google Tasks app.
Reorder your tasks
- Open the Google Tasks app
.
- Touch and hold a task.
- Move the task where you want.
Sort tasks by due date
- Open the Google Tasks app
.
- At the bottom, tap More
Sort by
Date.
Move a task to a different list
Tip: Tasks set to repeat can't be moved to a different list.
Prioritize tasks with stars
Star tasks
- Open the Google Tasks app
.
- To the right of a task, tap Add to starred
.
Tips:
- From the Starred list, you can also create a starred task and select its primary list.
- To remove a task from your starred tasks, tap Remove from starred
.
Manage starred tasks
- Open the Google Tasks app
.
- To view your starred tasks, at the top, tap Starred tasks
.
- To re-order your tasks, tap More
Sort by
choose an option:
- To sort by due date, tap Date.
- To sort by time starred, tap Recently starred.
- To change the primary list of a starred task, tap the task
the name of the list at the top
the desired list from the drop down.
Tips:
- You cannot manually reorder starred tasks in the starred view.
- You can find your completed starred tasks in their primary lists.
Check pending tasks on a list
- Open the Google Tasks app
.
- Tap the list you want to check for pending tasks.
- Sort the list by due date. Uncompleted tasks appear at the top, under “Past.”
Tips:
- Tasks with dates also appear in Google Calendar.
- A list of all uncompleted tasks from the last 30 days is available in your current day on Google Calendar.
Find or hide completed tasks
- Open the Google Tasks app
.
- Select an option:
- To find completed tasks, next to "Completed," tap the Down arrow
.
- To hide completed tasks, tap the Up arrow

- To find completed tasks, next to "Completed," tap the Down arrow
