Prioritize tasks with stars

You can add a star to important tasks.

Mark tasks with a star

  1. Go to Gmail, Calendar, Chat, Drive, or a file in Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides.
  2. On the right, click Tasks Tasks.
  3. On the right of a task, click Add to starred Star.

Tips:

  • From the Starred list, you can create a starred task and select its primary list.
  • To remove a task from your Starred list, click Remove from starred Star.

Manage starred tasks

To find your starred tasks:

  1. Go to Gmail, Calendar, Chat, Drive, or a file in Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides.
  2. On the right, click Tasks Tasks.
  3. Click the Down arrow Drop down arrow and then Starred tasks Star.

To reorder your starred tasks, click More More.

  • To sort by due date, click Date.
  • To sort by time starred, click Recently starred.

To change the primary list of a starred task:

  1. Click the task and then List .
  2. In the drop down, select the desired list.

Tips:

  • You can't manually reorder starred tasks in the Starred list.
  • You can find your completed starred tasks in their primary lists.
