Making and ending a call

It's easy to make calls with Google Talk, and best of all, it's free! Here's how to call a friend:
  1. Find the person in your Friends list that you'd like to call.
  2. Click the phone icon next to his or her name (you'll hear ringing -- just like when you're calling someone with a telephone).
  3. Wait for the person to answer, and start talking!

When you're all talked-out, click 'End call' to hang up.

Tip: If you have a chat window open, you can click the 'Call' button along the top to dial your friend.

Did you know? Google Talk uses roughly 24 to 32 kilobits per second during conversations. You can expect a ten minute conversation to use about 2 megabytes in combined uploads and downloads.
