Find your way around Tag Manager

The following images help you find your way around Google Tag Manager so you can familiarize yourself with the layout and find the places mentioned in the help center.

All accounts

The All accounts page appears when you first sign in to Tag Manager. The page displays all your accounts and the containers within those accounts.

On this page:

  • A blue circle icon with a white number one inside. The Accounts tab lets you view and edit your Tag Manager containers and the settings for each account and container.
  • A blue circle icon with a white number two inside. The Google tags tab lets you view and edit the Google tag settings for all the tags associated with your Google Account.
  • A blue circle icon with a white number three inside. The Create Account button lets you create a Tag Manager account that's associated with your Google Account.
  • A blue circle icon with a white number four inside. View the name of the Tag Manager account.
  • A blue circle icon with a white number five inside. View and edit the Tag Manager account settings.
  • A blue circle icon with a white number six inside. View and open the containers within the Tag Manager account.
  • A blue circle icon with a white number seven inside. View and edit the container within the Tag Manager account.

Container workspace

The container overview page appears when you select a container on the All accounts page. You can return to the All accounts page by clicking the back arrow in the top right corner of the page.

On this page:

  • A blue circle icon with a white number one inside. Switch between Tag Manager accounts and the containers in each account.
  • A blue circle icon with a white number two inside. Search in the current container workspace (for example, find your Google tag).
  • A blue circle icon with a white number three inside. The Workspace tab lets you navigate to the workspace landing page.
  • A blue circle icon with a white number four inside. The Versions tab lets you navigate to different versions of your container. You create a version when you publish your changes using the button (7) in the top right.
  • A blue circle icon with a white number five inside. The Admin tab lets you access administrative settings for your container.
  • A blue circle icon with a white number six inside. Click the 'GTM-XXXXX' link to access container installation instructions.
  • A blue circle icon with a white number seven inside. Preview and publish versions of the workspace. You can access previous versions using the Versions tab (4) in the top left.
  • A blue circle icon with a white number eight inside. Create and edit tags, triggers, variables, and folders.
