Learn about Google's recycling program

Google strives to ensure that our products are designed, packaged, and recycled in a sustainable way. We can help you recycle your old Google products as well as other electronics no longer in use. Learn more about Google's commitment to the environment.

Before recycling your electronics, we recommend protecting your personal information by resetting your devices to their factory settings and clearing your data. Check with your manufacturer for data removal instructions.

For EU Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive and recycling information, see our WEEE page.

  2. Place your device in a sturdy box, attach the label, and follow the shipping instructions or drop it off at a collection site near you. Check with your manufacturer for data removal instructions.
  3. Enjoy peace of mind. Your device will be responsibly recycled.

EU WEEE Directive Compliance

Selective Treatment by Reuse/Recycling Facilities

In accordance with Annex VII in the EU WEEE Directive 2012/19/EU, Google has identified the substances, mixtures, and components that have to be removed from separately collected WEEE associated with Google branded consumer hardware devices. Reuse and recycling facilities shall ensure that these identified substances, mixtures, and components are disposed of or recovered in compliance with Directive 2008/98/EC. Reuse/recycling facilities can request information about the identified substances, mixtures, and components requiring removal by sending an email to env-compliance@google.com.
