Even if it was awarded before August 2025, you can’t extend the expiration date of Google Store credit. The expiration date is set at the time of issuance and can’t be extended.
I made a purchase assuming that my Google Store points will expire. Can I request a refund?
You can return most items you buy from the Google Store within 15 calendar days after the day you receive them. However, there are no special accommodations related to this particular change.

Are there any new alert systems for when Google Store points are about to expire?
There are currently no alert systems on the website. Expiration reminder emails are sent out before expiration, which is the same system as before the update.
Will the expiration date for all Google Store points change to 2 years?
No, not all Google Store points will have their expiration date extended to 2 years. The expiration policy depends on how you earn the points:
- Points from promotions and referrals are valid for 2 years.
- Points from trade-ins earned in Japan expire after 6 months due to local requirements.
