Verify your identity through online phone verification (Australia & Japan only)

If you’re asked to complete an online phone verification with OCRLabs after you’ve completed your purchase, we’ll send you an email with a link to complete your digital identity verification. You can access this directly from the email or you can:

  1. Go to your Order History page.
  2. Select View Trade-in details.
  3. Select Submit ID.

Complete your online identity verification

To complete online identity verification:

  1. Use your phone to access the link.
  2. Take a selfie. The selfie should be an unobstructed view of your face with no mask, face covering, sunglasses, or hats.
  3. Upload a photo of your government-issued ID card. Acceptable ID types include:
    • Acceptable in Japan only:
      • Driver’s license
      • My Number card
      • Residence card
      • Special Permanent Resident certificate
    • Acceptable in Australia only:
      • Driver’s license
      • Passport
      • Proof of Age Card

Once you complete the online process, you’ll receive an email confirmation of the identity verification results. If your ID was verified successfully, the trade-in kit will be shipped to you.

Important:

  • The trade-in kit will be sent to the shipping address on your order, even if it’s different from the name and address on your ID.
  • Identity verification is operated by OCRLabs on behalf of PCS Wireless.

Unable to complete the online phone verification

You can send an email to our trade-in partner, PCS Wireless.

  • Australia trade-ins
    • Front and back images of one government-issued ID.
  • Japan trade-ins
    • Front and back images of 2 government-issued IDs.

To send photos of your IDs to PCS Wireless:

  1. Send the email to: [Enter your Trade-in ID]@pcs-verify.com.
  2. Use “Trade-in Identity Verification for [Enter your Trade-in ID]” as your subject line.
    • For example, if your trade-in ID is 123456789321:
      • The email address should be: “123456789321@pcs-verify.com.”
      • The subject line should be: “Trade-in Identity Verification for 123456789321.”

Tips:

  • You can find your Trade-in ID in your trade-in confirmation email or in your “Trade-in details” page. The format is a 12-digit number.
  • The email to PCS Wireless can be in Japanese or English.
