Move a game to a TV

Before you switch gameplay to a TV (or to a different TV), set up the TV or streaming device that you want to use and connect it to your Wi-Fi network.

  1. Press and hold the Stadia button Stadia button on your Stadia Controller for four seconds to turn it off. If your controller is plugged into the first device with a USB-C® cable, you can just disconnect it.
  2. Press and hold the Stadia button Stadia button on your Stadia Controller until it vibrates twice to re-enter linking mode.
    • If you use a Bluetooth® controller, pair it to your Google TV, Android TV or a Stadia-compatible smart TV that supports Bluetooth.
  3. Sign in to your Stadia account on the TV that you want to use.
    • If you switch to Chromecast Ultra, set up your Stadia Controller on it first. Use the Stadia Controller to enter the linking code displayed on the second TV screen's ambient mode, then choose the account that you want to sign in to.
    • If you switch to Google TV, Android TV or a Stadia-compatible smart TV, use a Bluetooth controller or the TV remote to launch Stadia and press Back Back on the TV remote to switch to your account. If you want to use a Stadia Controller, link it to your screen before you launch a game.
  4. Launch the game that you were playing on the first device.

Note: If you switch from a TV that uses Chromecast Ultra, Stadia will stay open there for 15 minutes, then automatically exit to the Chromecast Ultra's ambient mode screen.
