Play Stadia on Chrome (

You can play Stadia on the web with the latest version of Google Chrome.

Start a game on

  1. Use the Stadia mobile app to claim or to buy a game from the Stadia store.
  2. Launch Stadia on the web by visiting using Google Chrome.
  3. Use your mouse to find a game to play in Stadia.
  4. To start the game, just click on the one you want from your library, or click PlayStadia Play button to start the one you were previously playing.

Exit a game on

  1. Open the exit game menu. There are two ways to do this.
    • Press and hold the Esc key on your keyboard.
    • Press and hold the Stadia or home button on your controller. 
  2. Select Exit Game.

Set up a controller

  1. If your controller is connected to Chromecast, disconnect it by holding down the Stadia buttonStadia icon on the home screen and select Unlink and turn off controller.
  2. Use a USB cable to plug your controller into your computer.
    • Note: If you are using a 3rd party controller, you can also connect wirelessly via Bluetooth. Wireless play using a Stadia Controller on the web is coming soon.
  3. Turn on your controller.
  4. Open and launch a game.

Set up a mouse and keyboard

To use a mouse and keyboard, just plug them in or connect wirelessly via Bluetooth.

If you're using Windows, you may want to disable mouse acceleration by turning off "Enhance pointer precision" in Windows mouse settings. If you're using Chrome OS, you can turn off mouse acceleration in Settings Settings and then Device and then Mouse and touchpad.

Listen to audio and use voice chat

You can use a headset to listen to audio or use voice chat on

  • To use voice chat, enable your Chrome mic.
  • If you are using a 3rd party controller connected via Bluetooth, plug your headset into your computer. If you plug your headset into your controller, voice chat might not work.

Open the in-game menu

There are 3 ways to open the in-game menu.

  • On your keyboard, press Shift + Tab.
  • On your Stadia Controller, press the Stadia button.
  • On a 3rd party controller, press the home button.

Access your friends list and other social features

You can access your friends list and other social features from the home screen or while playing a game.

To access the friends list:

  • On your keyboard, press Shift + Tab.
  • On your Stadia Controller, press the Stadia button.
  • On a 3rd party controller, press the home button.

Play local multiplayer games on (Chrome) 

  • To play a multiplayer game, players can use a mouse/keyboard combination and up to 4 controllers connected to one computer.
  • Players can connect each controller to the computer with a USB cable. You will need one USB port per controller.
    • Note: If you are using 3rd party controllers, you can also connect to the computer via Bluetooth.

Switch from to your TV

You can switch from to the TV where you set up your Chromecast Ultra.

  1. Press the Stadia button on your Stadia Controller.
  2. Open the Stadia app on your TV and then input the linking code if needed and then select PlayStadia Play button.

Note: You can cast your Chrome browser screen from More. You'll be able to cast your Stadia game to your TV, but you will only be able to play if you have a Stadia Controller.

4K, HDR, and 5.1 Surround Sound

HDR, 4K, and 5.1 surround sound support for are coming soon.


You can view the achievements you've earned in Stadia games in Google Chrome and on TV with Chromecast Ultra. In Google Chrome, you can also track how many achievements you've earned for each game, and view the achievements of other players who have made them visible to you.
