While you play a game on Stadia, you can capture screenshots and record video clips with the Stadia Controller, a computer keyboard or the mobile touch gamepad to record and keep track of your favourite moments. Find and manage your captures at stadia.com or in the Stadia app .

Capture storage
Captured screenshots and video clips get stored automatically on your Stadia account. With an active Stadia Pro subscription, you can store up to 500 clips and unlimited screenshots. Without a Pro subscription, you can store up to 100 clips and unlimited screenshots.
Note: If you're a Stadia Pro subscriber with more than 100 clips and your subscription lapses, you won't lose access to any of your existing clips.
Capture screenshots and clips
You can capture screenshots or video clips while you play on a TV, on stadia.com, or in the Stadia app .
- To capture a screenshot:
- On a Stadia Controller, press the Capture button
.
- On a computer keyboard, press F12.
- On your mobile device's touch gamepad, tap Capture
.
- On a Stadia Controller, press the Capture button
- To capture a video clip of the last 30 seconds of gameplay:
- On a Stadia Controller, press and hold the Capture button
for 1 second.
- On a computer keyboard, press and hold F12 for 1 second.
- On your mobile device's touch gamepad, tap and hold Capture
for 1 second.
- On a Stadia Controller, press and hold the Capture button
Voice chat and video clips
When you capture a video clip and your audio options are set to 'Game chat':
- The video clips will include game chat voices, including your own voice and the voices of other players, for their duration.
- Note: Video clips saved before early November 2020 will not include your own voice, but will include the voices of other players from your game chat.
- Voices from party chat will not be included. Learn more about types of Stadia voice chat.
- If you don’t want voices included in your video clip, you can mute yourself and others before your gameplay is captured or change your voice channel in your audio options.
Go to your captures
Find the screenshots and clips that you've captured:
In the Stadia app
- On your mobile device, open the Stadia app
.
- On the home screen, scroll down to 'Captures and game states'.
- Swipe left and right to scroll through recent captures, or tap See all.
- Tap the capture that you want to view.
On stadia.com
- Sign in to your account on stadia.com.
- On the home page, scroll down to 'Captures and game states'.
- Find your recent captures or select See all.
- Click the capture that you want to view.
Share your captures
You can share your captures from the Stadia app or stadia.com. Anyone can select the link that you share and access your screenshot or video clip, even if they don't have a Stadia account.
Note: Some games support State Share. This feature lets you attach a unique, playable portion of the game with a capture that you share.
Download your captures
You can download your Stadia video clips and screenshots on stadia.com:
- Sign in to your account on stadia.com.
- On the home screen, scroll down to 'Captures and game states'.
- Find a recent capture or select See all.
- Click on the capture that you want to download.
- The capture will expand to fill your screen. At the top right, select Download
.
Note: Video clips are saved in the .webm format and screenshots are saved in the .jpg format. You'll get a full resolution version of the file even if you download it while it's still 'Processing'.
The maximum resolution and dynamic range of your captured video clips are determined by the device on which you take the capture. If you play back a video clip on a different device, the clip's visual quality might be affected.
For example, if you capture a video clip during a 4K HDR game session on a TV and then you download the clip onto a computer that doesn't support 4K or HDR, visual issues may occur during playback. Below is a list of recommended media players that you can use to play back captured video clips.

Delete your captures
You can delete any screenshots or video clips that you've captured:
In the Stadia app
- On your mobile device, open the Stadia app
.
- On the home screen, scroll down to 'Captures and game states'.
- Swipe left and right to scroll through recent captures, or tap See all.
- Tap the capture that you want to delete.
- Tap Delete
Delete.
Note: If you delete a shared capture, its shared link will automatically be disabled.
On stadia.com
- Sign in to your account on stadia.com.
- On the home page, scroll down to 'Captures and game states'.
- Find a recent capture or click See all.
- Click the capture that you want to delete.
- Note: On the 'Captures and game states' page, you can select multiple captures. Just click the top-left corner of every capture that you want to delete.
- Click Delete
Delete.
Note: If you delete a shared capture, its shared link will automatically be disabled.
