Making purchases in the Stadia store

You can purchase games, add-ons, game subscriptions, and a Stadia Pro subscription in the Stadia Store on a mobile device using Stadia app Stadia icon or on a computer at stadia.com.

Note: Some games offer add-ons and subscriptions for purchase in-game. To purchase an in-game add-on or subscription, follow the instructions in the game.

Purchase a game, add-on, or game subscription

In the Stadia app

  1. On your mobile device, open the latest version of the Stadia app Stadia icon.
  2. Tap Store.
  3. Scroll through the list of categories and tap the one you want, or tap the All Games category to view all games.
  4. Scroll through the list and tap on a game to see purchase options and add-ons.
  5. Tap Buy, or tap an add-on or game subscription.
    • Tapping an add-on or game subscription will open the details page for that item. To buy it, tap Buy or Subscribe.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the purchase.

On stadia.com

  1. On your computer using Google Chrome, sign into your account at stadia.com.
  2. Click Store.
  3. Scroll through the list of categories and click the one you want, or click the All Games category to view all games.
  4. Scroll through the list and click on a game to see purchase options and add-ons.
  5. Click Buy, or click an add-on or game subscription.
    • Clicking an add-on or game subscription will open the details page for that item. To buy it, click Buy or Subscribe.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the purchase.

Note: If you have an active Pro subscription, you won't be able to purchase a game or bundle that can be currently claimed with Pro, or that you have previously claimed with Pro. If you cancel your Stadia Pro subscription and it expires, you can choose to purchase a game or bundle you previously claimed.

What happens to my save data if I purchase a game I previously claimed?

If you cancel your Stadia Pro subscription and it expires, your save data for games that you previously claimed is not deleted. If you purchase a game that you had previously claimed, your save data will remain intact.

Purchase a Stadia Pro subscription

You can purchase a Stadia Pro subscription from the Stadia app Stadia icon or on a computer at stadia.com. A Stadia Pro subscription includes free games each month, and perks such as 4K HDR gaming and 5.1 surround sound.

To purchase a Stadia Pro subscription:

In the Stadia app

  1. On your mobile device, open the Stadia app Stadia icon.
  2. Tap Store.
  3. Scroll through the list of categories and tap Stadia Pro Games.
  4. Scroll through the list of games and tap a game that you want to claim and haven't already purchased.
  5. Tap Claim with Pro.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to sign up for Stadia Pro.
  7. Return to the game that you want and then tap Claim to add it to your library.

On stadia.com

You can sign up for Stadia Pro at stadia.com/pro. You can also sign up in the Stadia store:

  1. On your computer using Google Chrome, sign into your account at stadia.com.
  2. Select Store.
  3. Scroll through the list of categories and click Stadia Pro Games.
  4. Scroll through the list of games and click a game that you want to claim and haven't already purchased.
  5. Select Claim with Pro.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to sign up for Stadia Pro.
  7. Return to the game that you want and then click Claim to add it to your library.

Pre-order a game, bundle, or add-on

When you pre-order a game, bundle, or add-on in the Stadia store, you'll be able to access it when it is released. Just look for the words "Pre-order".

In the Stadia app

  1. On your mobile device, open the Stadia app Stadia icon.
  2. Tap Store.
  3. Scroll through the list of categories and tap the one you want, or tap All Games to view all games and bundles.
  4. Scroll through the list. When you find a game or bundle with "Pre-order" listed under its title, tap it to view purchase options and add-ons.
  5. Tap Pre-order.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the pre-order.
  7. An e-mail confirmation of your pre-order will be sent to the email address associated with your Stadia account.

On stadia.com

  1. On your computer using Google Chrome, sign into your account at stadia.com.
  2. Click Store.
  3. Scroll through the list of categories and click the one you want, or click All Games to view all games and bundles.
  4. Scroll through the list. When you find a game or bundle with "Pre-order" listed under its title, click it to view purchase options and add-ons.
  5. Click Pre-order.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the pre-order.
  7. An e-mail confirmation of your pre-order will be sent to the email address associated with your Stadia account.

Pre-order FAQ

I pre-ordered a game. When will my payment method be charged?
Your payment method will be charged when the pre-order goes live.

Can I change the payment method I used to pre-order?
No. The payment method used at the time of pre-order will be used to complete the purchase.

The payment method I used to pre-order has expired. What will happen to my pre-order?
Before the pre-ordered content is released, you will receive an email with instructions on how to choose another payment method.

How can I cancel my pre-order?
To cancel a pre-order, open your Stadia settings and select Purchases & subscriptions. Select the pre-order you want to cancel, then select Cancel pre-order.

I pre-ordered a game. My payment method was charged and the game was released, but I want a refund. How can I get one?
For information about how to get a refund, please refer to our Stadia return policy.

Can I use a Stadia store discount when I pre-order a game?
Store discounts cannot be applied to pre-orders. For more information, refer to the Stadia Store Discount Terms and Conditions.

Troubleshooting

To purchase games, add-ons or subscriptions on your Android device, or to pre-order content, you will need Google Play 15.1 or later to be installed. If you aren't able to purchase or pre-order a game, check to make sure your Google Play app version is up to date:

  1. On your mobile device, open the Google Play app Google Play store icon.
  2. In the upper left corner, tap Menu Menu and then Settings Settings icon.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the screen to view the Play Store version.

If your version is out of date, tap Play Store version and follow the on-screen instructions to update Google Play.
