Change your Stadia settings
Most of the changes you make to your settings will apply everywhere you're signed into Stadia. For example, if you change your privacy settings in the Stadia mobile app, they'll apply when you play on a TV or on stadia.com.
Note: Menus like "Performance" and "Experiments" contain settings that only take effect on the device you set them on.
In this section, your active or canceled subscriptions appear at the top of the screen. Under "Transaction history" or "Purchase history", you can view a list of your transactions, including:
- Purchases
- Returns and pending returns
- Redemptions
- Chargebacks
Select a transaction to get more information about it. You can also select Get support or Request refund.
Your Stadia Name and avatar are public. You can change your Stadia Name on stadia.com once after you create your account, then once every 180 days. If you need to request a name change before 180 days have passed, contact us.
You can change your Stadia avatar as often as you'd like. To change it, just tap a new avatar.
You can choose privacy options for settings such as, "Who can send you friend requests", "Who can see details about you", and "Who can send you game invites". You can also choose who can see details about your achievements, game activity, and online status.
Next to each setting, choose an option. Some of the options might include:
- Public
- All players
- Friends & their friends
- Friends
- Private (No one)
Under "Games using your friends list", you can choose to allow specific publishers to access your friends list. Next to each publisher, turn the switch on or off.
Note: Not all settings will have all of these options. Learn more about privacy settings.

, turn on Get notifications under "Notifications". Turn on the slider next to each type of notification you want to receive.

If notifications were previously disabled for the Stadia app on your iPhone or iPad, you'll need to go into your iPhone or iPad's settings to turn on notifications before you can receive them.
If you create a family group, you can manage your family payment method in the Stadia family dashboard. Any supervised family members you add to the group can request to purchase Stadia games with the family payment method. You can also approve or deny their purchase or play requests, adjust their privacy settings, and more.

Performance settings let you adjust settings such as visual quality. Based on your internet connection, data usage preferences, and the device you use, you can specify a maximum resolution of Up to 4K (Pro subscribers only), Up to 1080p, or Up to 720p.
Changes to these settings will take effect the next time you open a game and only apply to the device you set them on. Based on your internet connection, Stadia will automatically adjust your resolution (up to the limit you specified) for the best experience. If you're playing on a mobile device, you can also turn on the ability to stream games using mobile data instead of your Wi-Fi connection.
