Free games on Stadia

If you have a Stadia account, you can play some games for free with no Stadia Pro subscription or credit card required.

How do I play a free game?

Before playing a free game on Stadia, you'll need to create a Stadia account on your computer or mobile device.

After you create a Stadia account:

On your computer

  1. On your computer, sign into your account on stadia.com.
  2. Select Store.
  3. Find and select a free game in the store.
  4. Select Play for free and then Play Stadia Play button.

In the Stadia app

  1. On your mobile device, open the Stadia app Stadia icon.
  2. Tap Store.
  3. Tap a free game. Look for “Free” games in the store.
  4. Tap Play for free and then Play Stadia Play button.

After you launch the free game, it will appear in your library and can be played at no charge for as long as you have an active Stadia account.

Note: Some users may experience wait times when playing free games on Stadia.

Purchasing add-ons

In some cases, you can purchase add-ons for free games in the Stadia store. Just go to the Stadia store and then select the add-on you want to purchase and then select Buy.

Are free games mine to keep? Do they include the full game?
Free games are full games that you can play for free and keep without a Stadia Pro subscription. In some cases, other versions of the game may be available in the store. Check with the game's publisher for more information.

Can I unlock achievements in free games?
Yes. If the game has achievements, you'll be able to unlock them during gameplay.

I have a Stadia Pro subscription. What happens to my free game if I don't renew it?
If your Stadia Pro subscription ends, any free games you've added to your library will remain in your library and will be playable at up to 1080p and 60 fps.

Do supervised members of a family group need their family manager's approval to play free games?
Yes. Players with supervised accounts will need their family manager's approval before they can play free games. Also, supervised users won't be able to play any games with a content rating above what has been allowed for them by their family manager.
