Share your screenshots and video clips

After you capture a screenshot or video clip, you can share it with anyone. When you share a link to one of your captures, anyone who gets your link can view it on Stadia, even if they don't have a Stadia account. People will only be able to view the captures that you've decided to share.

Note: Some games support State Share. This feature lets you attach a unique, playable portion of the game with a capture that you share.

  2. On your home screen, scroll down to 'Captures and game states'.

View another player's capture

When another player shares a capture link with you, you can select it to view their video clip or screenshot. While you're viewing the capture, you can:

  • Play the game that the capture is from: Select More More and then Play this game on Stadia.
    • Note: If the game is in your library, it will launch right away. If the game isn't in your library, you'll have the option to purchase or claim it. If you aren't signed in to a Stadia account, you'll have the option to sign in or create a new account if you don't yet have one.
  • Play a game state (if one is attached to the capture) to experience a variation of the game based on that player's gameplay. You'll see information about it when you view it on your desktop or laptop computer. If you don't see this information, select Game state Game state. To report the state for a code of conduct violation, select More More and then Report this game state.

Capture sharing restrictions

  • Stadia players with supervised accounts, such as children, cannot share captures.
  • If capture sharing was suspended for you because you violated Stadia's Terms of Service, the Share Share icon on your captures will appear greyed out. Select the icon for more information.
  • You'll no longer be able to share a capture (or the game state attached to it) if it's determined that it violates Stadia's code of conduct. Also, if a capture that you previously shared violates Stadia's code of conduct, anyone who clicks the link won't be able to view it.
  • If you try to share a capture that you've made private, it won't be made public automatically. You'll have to switch the capture back to public first by turning on the slider next to 'Share by link'.
