Tilt: Shift

Miniaturize your world: Create the classic compressed depth of field look of a miniature set or emulate the swings and tilts of a large format camera.

BeforeAfter

The Tilt-Shift filter creates a narrow in-focus band in your photo that transitions smoothly into a blur. This effect simulates the use of either a large format view camera or the depth of field common to a macro lens focused very closely. Applying the Tilt-Shift filter can make a normal scene look like a toy set.

Available Controls:

Style
Tap on the Style pop-up menu to select from either the linear focus or oval focus.

The linear focus lets you add a band of focus across your image that you can then control the size and position of. Use the pinch and zoom gesture to expand or collapse the band of focus. Tap and drag to position the band on the image. Use two fingers to rotate the band.

The oval focus lets you add a region of focus to your image. After selecting the oval Gradient, you can adjust the height and width of the area of focus by using the pinch and zoom gesture on one side of the area. Use two fingers to rotate the direction of the area. Tap and drag to position the center of the area.

Transition
The transition control enables you to control how quickly the in-focus area transitions to the out-of-focus area. Swipe to the right to increase the transition’s distance.

Blur Strength
Swipe this control to the right to increase the strength of the blur, reducing the amount of detail in the out-of-focus areas.

Brightness
Swiping this control to the right brightens your photo. Swiping to the left darkens it.

Contrast
Use the contrast control to increase the difference between the brightest object and the darkest object in your photo. Swiping to the right will increase the contrast, while swiping to the left reduces it.

Saturation
Swiping to the right will increase the saturation, or vibrancy, of the colors throughout your photo. Swiping to the left decreases saturation. A value of -100 will result in a photo completely without color.
