Hi folks! Great news!
Thanks to your feedback, we are planning on launching highly-requested changes to new Google Sites: we are removing the appended branded footer, and giving you the option to display the last updated time of a page in a newly designed site info icon.
Edit (Aug 2, 2019) : All users should now be able to see this in their respective accounts.
Removing the promotional footer:
We heard your feedback that the “Made with the new Google Sites…” branding and “Create a site” button at the bottom of new Sites’ pages can distract site viewers and make your site feel less professional. We’re removing that promotional footer, so your site viewers can focus on your content.
Display the time a site’s page was last updated:
You’ve told us that it’s sometimes challenging for site viewers to determine how up to date the site content is that they are viewing. With this new feature, you can choose to display the last updated date (in a newly introduced info icon at the bottom left of the site):
Depending on whether you are using G Suite or a non-paid version of new Sites, your experience with the site info icon will be slightly different:
Non-paid (and you can remove the last updated date if you’d like):
G Suite (and you can remove the icon altogether if you’d like):
Note: there are some exceptions - we show ‘Report abuse’ in certain G Suite cases when sites are available outside of the domain.
Thanks again for all of your passionate contributions to Google Sites. Keep the ideas coming!
