As recommended, I've unpublished, waited 15 minutes and republished, but search within my site at https://sites.google.com/umich.edu/rosscareerdevelopmentoffice is not returning expected results.  For example, we have a whole page devoted to resumes, but searching for the term "resume" does not return anything on that page.

That worked, thank you, but the results are still not what I would expect.  How does internal site search decide how to present the results?  It's clearly not sorted by relevance!  For example, my resume still comes up as the 3rd or 4th listing in the search results, even though it has, by far, the most mention of resumes on our site.  As another example, we have a marketing interview guide on our site, and searching for that exact term ("marketing interview guide"), the page with that document comes up last of ~20 listings on the search results page.  Are there any tips or tricks you can point me to for how to design the page and my content to improve the search?
