How to preserve direct links to external sites ? preventing google site to change the link ? 0 Recommended Answers 1 Reply 4 Upvotes
we'd link to avoid google site's transformation of our external links into https://www.google.com/url?q=<our_link> - we use pages to publish links, they have to be preserved, and it's the essence of the Web !
please help us to achieve it

The new version of Google Sites does not offer the option to remove the URL redirector. Google does not monitor these forums so please make sure you send feedback to Google to make your feature requests and bug reports.
The reason it's there is to protect your visitors from malicious web sites, and on the published site no one will really notice it happens as it's completely automatic (if you're trying the link from the editor you have to manually follow the link).

The most used features from classic Sites will be incorporated gradually, while not ALL the features will be re-introduced Google is constantly monitoring the feedback and prioritizing heavily used and top requested features.
