Change your site's appearance

You can change the theme and language used on your site, or change the font and colors for each element of your pages. You can also change how users on mobile devices see your page.

This article is for the classic Google Sites (no “Publish” button at the top right). Get help for the new Google Sites.

Set colors and fonts

  1. Open your website in Google Sites.
  2. In the top right, click More actions More actions and then Manage site.
  3. Click Themes, Colors and Fonts.
  4. To pick a theme, below "Base theme," click the drop-down menu.
  5. Click on any listed layout element.
    • For backgrounds, you can pick a color or put an image in any white space.
    • For text, you can pick a font, color, and size.

Choose your site’s language

You can pick the language to use on your site.

  1. Open your website in Google Sites.
  2. In the top right, click More actions More actions and then Manage site.
  3. To pick a language, scroll to "Site display language" and click the drop-down menu.
  4. Click Save.

Preview pages for mobile view

To see how your page looks on mobile devices:

  1. Go to the page you want to view.
  2. Click More actions More actions and then Preview page as viewer.
  3. In the new tab, above your page body, click Mobile.
