Insert calendars, maps, Google Drive files and gadgets

You can put Google Drive files, Google apps, and gadgets made by users on your page.

This article is for the classic Google Sites (no “Publish” button at the top right). Get help for the new Google Sites.

Put content from Google apps on your page

You can use content from Google apps on your page, like:

  • Google Drive files
  • Google+ files and photos
  • YouTube videos
  • Charts generated from Google Sheets
  • Calendars
  • Maps

Make sure files have sharing turned on or are marked as public.

  1. Open your website in Google Sites.
  2. Click the page you want to put the file on.
  3. At the top right, click Edit Edit.
  4. Click where you want to insert the file.
  5. Click Insert and then under "Google," pick an app to take content from.
  6. Follow the instructions in the window to pick the file, calendar, map, or video to insert. You may also be prompted to change how the content displays.
  7. Pick a border, title, size, and other options.
  8. Click Save.
  9. At the top right, click Save.

Note: Google Drive files and Google apps don’t count toward your storage limits.

Put other gadgets on your page

You can put gadgets on your page to perform simple tasks.

  1. Open your website in Google Sites.
  2. Click the page you want to put the gadget on.
  3. At the top right, click Edit Edit.
  4. Click where you want to insert the file.
  5. Click Insert and thenunder "Gadgets," click More gadgets.
  6. On the left, pick a gadget source.
  7. Scroll through the list of gadgets and click the ones you want to use.

Note: Gadgets don’t count toward your storage limits.
