Undo a migration

If you migrate macros or migrate the conversions API, Google Analytics, and remarketing to support parallel tracking, you have up to 7 days to undo either of the migrations. For example, if you discover problems with  your landing pages after you migrate, you can undo the migration and debug the issue. Once you've fixed the issue, you can redo the migration.

To undo a migration:

  1. Navigate to an advertiser.

    Steps for navigating to an advertiser
    1. Click the navigation bar to display navigation options.

    2. In the "Agency" list, click on the agency that contains the advertiser. You can search for an agency by name or scroll through the list.

    3. In the "Advertiser" list, click on the advertiser.

    4. Click Apply or press the Enter key.

    Search Ads 360 displays the advertiser page, which contains data for all of the advertiser’s engine accounts.

  2. Click the Engine accounts tab.

  3. Select the check box next to a Google Ads account.

  4. Click Edit and select Edit details….

  5. In the "Make your account compatible with Google Ads parallel tracking" section, clear one or both of the migration checkboxes.

  6. Click Yes, I understand in the confirmation box to undo the migration.
    The engine account editor closes and Search Ads 360 starts to undo the migration.

  7. To view the undo status, add these columns to the reporting table:

    • Migrate API, GA, and remarketing

    • Migrate macros to custom parameters

    The columns report one of the following states for the account you're undoing:

    • In progress: Undo has started but isn't finished yet.
    • Not started: Undo is complete, so the migration status reverts to "Not started." To confirm, view the settings for a campaign in the account.

Effects of undoing the macro migration

When you undo the macro migration, Search Ads 360 restores all of the URLs and URL templates it updated. Search Ads 360 leaves all of the custom parameters it created in place.

For example,  if macro migration changed a URL template to specify the following:

After undoing the macro migration, the URL template will appear as follows:

You'll still see one of the campaign's custom parameters defined as follows:
{_dscampaign} = "Hoopers+-+shoes"

Use the "Entities with a macro" reporting view to confirm that the macros have been restored.

Effects of undoing the conversion API migration

Search Ads 360 removes the gclsrc and ds_rl parameters it added to the Final URL Suffix and resumes appending these parameters just before it redirects clicks to the landing page URL. Note that in accounts that use parallel tracking, these parameters will not be available to the landing page, and the Google Analytics integration as well as cross-channel remarketing won't work.
