Edit/override a Search Ads 360 bid strategy

Exclude data from Search Ads 360 bid strategy or conversion goal calculations

Create a data exclusion event
We recommend that you remove data from a bid strategy or a conversion goal only if a significant amount of data is corrupt or missing from some time period. Data could be corrupt, if, for example, bad data from offline conversions is added to Search Ads 360. Missing data could be caused by an abnormal event such as a planned or unplanned web site outage.
Bid strategies and conversion goals are designed to handle routine data variations from events such as “Black Friday” or “Singles Day” by considering data over the history of the biddable item rather than a single day.
  1. Navigate to an advertiser.

Steps for navigating to an advertiser
    1. Click the navigation bar to display navigation options.

    2. In the "Agency" list, click on the agency that contains the advertiser. You can search for an agency by name or scroll through the list.

    3. In the "Advertiser" list, click on the advertiser.

    4. Click Apply or press the Enter key.

Search Ads 360 displays the advertiser page, which contains data for all of the advertiser’s engine accounts.

  2. In the left navigation panel, click Bid strategies.
  3. Click the Events tab.
  4. Click New, and then click Data exclusion event.
  5. Type a name for the event.

  6. Optionally, enter a short description of the Data Exclusion event.

It might be useful for you to explain why the data is excluded.
The name of the event is displayed in the bid strategy performance graph. The description is displayed when you point to the event.
  7. Enter start and end dates that occur in the past. Also enter a time range for the event.

The time zone matches your browser’s time zone.

Even though you can specify an event that is only a couple of hours, Search Ads 360 excludes data for the entire day (24 hours).
The maximum time range for an event is 365 days.
  8. Apply the event to bid strategies.

    1. The first 25 bid strategies are listed in the Apply to bid strategies list. To display the complete list, scroll to the bottom of the list, and then click Show more.

    2. Do any of the following to select the strategies and apply the event.

      • Click the bid strategy to select it.
      • To apply the Data Exclusion event to every bid strategy, click Select all.

The first six selected bid strategies are shown in the box on the right. Click the right arrow  to display the next six bid strategies.

      • To filter the list of bid strategies, type a name in the Search bid strategies box, and then click each strategy, or click Select visible to apply the Data Exclusion event to the strategies shown.

If you want to remove the event from bid strategies, clear the check box, click the remove icon  , or click Remove all.
  9. Apply the event to conversion goals.

    1. The first 25 conversion goals are listed in the Select conversion goals list. To display the complete list, scroll to the bottom of the list, and then click Show more.

    2. Do any of the following to select the conversion goals and apply the event.

      • Click the conversion goal.
      • To apply the Data Exclusion event to every conversion goal, click Select all.

The first six selected conversion goals are shown in the box on the right. Click the right arrow  to display the next six conversion goals.

      • To filter the list of conversion goals, type a name in the Search conversion goals box, and then click each conversion goal, or click Select visible to apply the Data Exclusion event to the conversion goals shown.

If you want to remove the event from conversion goals, clear the check box, click the remove icon  , or click Remove all.
  10. Click Save.
