Use the global site tag for Floodlight conversion tracking

Convert a Floodlight iframe or image tag to a Google tag

If you've been using iframe or image tags for tracking Floodlight activity, follow these steps to use the Google tag instead:

  1. Navigate to an advertiser.

Steps for navigating to an advertiser
    1. Click the navigation bar to display navigation options.

    2. In the "Agency" list, click on the agency that contains the advertiser. You can search for an agency by name or scroll through the list.

    3. In the "Advertiser" list, click on the advertiser.

    4. Click Apply or press the Enter key.

Search Ads 360 displays the advertiser page, which contains data for all of the advertiser’s engine accounts.

  2. In the left navigation panel, click Advertiser settings.

Don't see Advertiser settings? Only Search Ads 360 agency managers or advertiser managers can see Advertiser settings in the left navigation panel.

  3. Click the Floodlight▼ tab and select Floodlight activities.

  4. Select the checkbox next to an existing Floodlight activity. Then click Edit and select Edit details.

  5. In the Tag format list, make sure Google tag is selected.

  6. Copy global snippet and add it to all pages of your site. You may also have a global snippet obtained from another Google product. If that is the case, follow the instructions to adapt it so it works for your Search Ads 360 advertiser account.

  7. Copy the event snippet and add it to the page that contains the event you're tracking.

  8. Remove the existing iframe or image Floodlight tag that was originally placed on the page to track the Floodlight activity. You don't need this tag any more, since it's been replaced by the global snippet and the event snippet.

We recommend against keeping the Floodlight iframe/image tags on your site after you've installed event snippets, as this will lead to duplicated conversion data. Instead, retag a few activities at a time to ensure the global site tag and event snippets are working.
