Run a scheduled rule immediately

For automated rules that run on a recurring schedule, you can manually start the rule at any time instead of waiting for the next scheduled run.

Note that the rule will run again at its scheduled time, so be sure that your manual run won't negatively affect future scheduled runs. For example, you create a rule that increases bids for specific keywords by 10%, and you schedule the rule to run every day at 1 PM. At 11 AM, you run the rule manually. The rule will run again at 1 PM, so your bids will be increased an additional 10% (that's two 10% increases in one day).

Only scheduled rules that are currently active can be run immediately. Scheduled rules that are paused can't be run immediately (you need to resume them first), and rules that ran only once or that have been removed can't be run again.

How does it work?

When you click the Run now link for a rule, Search Ads 360 places the rule on its processing queue. If there are any rules currently running in the engine account, Search Ads 360 waits until the rule completes before it runs the rule you started manually.

To prevent errors in processing, you can't run a rule immediately if the rule is scheduled to start within a few minutes.

How to run a scheduled rule immediately

  1. Navigate to the advertiser that contains the rule.

Steps for navigating to an advertiser
    1. Click the navigation bar to display navigation options.

    2. In the "Agency" list, click on the agency that contains the advertiser. You can search for an agency by name or scroll through the list.

    3. In the "Advertiser" list, click on the advertiser.

    4. Click Apply or press the Enter key.

Search Ads 360 displays the advertiser page, which contains data for all of the advertiser’s engine accounts.

  2. In the left navigation panel, click Rules.
Search Ads 360 lists up to 2000 existing rules.

  3. In the Rules column of the reporting table, click the Run now link.
Search Ads 360 places the rule on its processing queue.

Alternatively, you can click the name of the rule in the Name column, and click the Run now button that appears above the rule's change log.

Is the "Run now" link or button disabled?

  • Look in the status column to make sure the rule is currently active.
Only active, scheduled rules can be run manually. "Run once" rules, and scheduled rules that are paused or removed can't be run manually.

  • Make sure that the rule isn't scheduled to run within a few minutes. In this case, just wait for the schedule to start the rule automatically.
