Data differences

Differences in product group, campaign, and ad group reports

The Product groups tab shows data for product groups that are currently in your Google Merchant Center account.

The Campaigns and Ad groups tabs shows data for all product groups that were in your Google Merchant Center account during the report's time range.

If you removed products from your Google Merchant Center account during the time range of a campaign or ad group report, the performance data won't match the product groups report.

For example:

  1. Today is the 23rd of the month.
  2. You set the reporting time range to the previous 3 full weeks (the 2nd through the 22nd).
  3. You removed a product from your Google Merchant Center account on the 14th.
  4. In this case:
    • The Product groups tab does not show metrics for the product you removed on the 14th.
This is because the item is no longer in your feed, and the Product groups tab only shows data for products that are currently in your feed.:
    • The Campaigns and Ad groups tabs do include metrics for the product you removed.
This is because the Campaigns and Ad groups tab show data for all products that were in the feed during the report's time range.

Product removed from feed on the 14th

Microsoft Advertising and product group reports

Just a reminder that while Microsoft Shopping Campaigns use inventory data from Microsoft Merchant Center stores to advertise your products, reports in Search Ads 360 always reflect data in the Google Merchant Center account that's associated with the campaign.

So when you view the Product groups tab in a Microsoft Advertising shopping campaign, you'll see data for product groups that are currently in your Google Merchant Center account. Likewise, Microsoft Advertising shopping campaigns in the Campaigns and Ad groups tabs show data for all product groups that were in your Google Merchant Center account during the report's time range.

If the data in your Microsoft Merchant Center store doesn't exactly match the data in your Google Merchant Center account, reports in Microsoft Advertising might not match reports in Search Ads 360.
