Create AdWords expanded text ads in DoubleClick Search
Expanded text ads are AdWords newest ad type that enable you to better express your message about your products and services with more characters and an appearance that is optimized for smartphone display. Announced at the May 2016 Google Performance Summit, AdWords created expanded text ads to help advertisers better target on-the-go consumers whose mobile phones are a constant resource in daily life.
AdWords expanded text ads allow up 140 characters per message, up from 95 characters in the standard AdWords text ads.
The new expanded text ads include:
- Two 30-character headlines
- One 80-character description line
- An automatically generated display URL
You can create expanded text ads in DoubleClick Search or in AdWords with no requirement to upgrade or migrate your existing standard text ads to the new format. You can also continue to create standard text ads.
