Create and apply a Search Ads 360 bid strategy for device bid adjustments

  1. Start creating a Search Ads 360 bid strategy.

    How to start creating a bid strategy

    1. Navigate to an advertiser.

    2. In the left navigation panel, click Bid strategies.

    3. Click + Bid strategy, which appears above the reporting table.

  2. Give the bid strategy a name and select a currency.

    The default selected currency is the advertiser's currency if at least one engine account uses the same currency as the advertiser. Any other currencies that are listed come from the engine accounts. All campaigns managed by the bid strategy must use the same currency.

    If an advertiser contains a single engine account, the only available currency is the engine account's currency.

  3. Choose a Conversions, Revenue, or Advanced targeting goal.
    Options appear for optimization and device bid adjustments.
  4. By default, the bid strategy automatically optimizes bids for keywords and product groups, and recommends device bid adjustments (as well as other types of bid adjustments).

    If you want the bid strategy to automatically set the bid adjustment for devices, under Bid adjustments, select the Device bid adjustments check box.

    Don't see the "Device bid adjustments" check box?
    Make sure you've selected a conversions, revenue, or advanced targeting goal. 

  5. Finish creating the Search Ads 360 bid strategy.
  6. Do any of the following to apply the bid strategy:
    • Apply the bid strategy to multiple campaigns, ad groups, or keywords.
    • Apply the bid strategy to each item one at a time.
      • If you apply the bid strategy to a campaign, you can specify whether the bid strategy applies to all ad groups and biddable items in the campaign, or only to those that are set to inherit.
        If you apply the bid strategy to an ad group, you can specify whether the bid strategy applies to all keywords or other biddable items in the ad group, or only those that are set to inherit.
      • Note that in the campaign or ad group settings, the mobile, tablet, and desktop bid adjustments might be blank because Search Ads 360 does not yet have a recommendation. Search Ads 360 needs to observe activity in the ad group or campaign before it can make a recommendation.
