Primary constraint column

The Primary constraint column lets you know if any bid strategy settings are preventing optimal bids in the given date range. The column also indicates the percentage of spend that is affected by the constraint.

You can add this column to the bid strategy reporting table and any keyword reporting table. In a keyword reporting table, the column also indicates the target bid that would have been set if the constraint did not exist.

Add this column to a report
  1. Navigate to a page that lists bid strategies or keywords.

  2. Select the date range when you want to see how the bid strategy was limited.

  3. Above the performance summary graph, click the Columns button.

  4. Next to Available columns, type the column name in the search box.

  5. Click + next to the column name in the Available columns list.

  6. Click Apply.

Here are the possible values, along with a recommended action to give the Smart Bidding Suite more freedom to raise or lower bids as needed:

  • Limited by min bid: Decrease the min bid.

  • Limited by max bid: Increase the max bid.

  • Limited by position: Relax the position range. For example, if the range is 3-6, you could relax the range to 1-10.

  • Not limited
