Fix issues with the Screenwise TV Meter

Make sure Screenwise Meter is collecting info

When the TV meter works correctly, the bottom of the screen says "Checking for the TV."


Can't connect to the internet

Try these steps:

Check that the TV meter is connected to the Screenwise Router Wi-Fi

  1. Tap the Wi-Fi symbol on the TV meter screen.
  2. Tap the network name for the Screenwise Router.

Re-enter the password

  1. Connect to a different Wi-Fi network.
  2. Connect again to the correct network and enter the correct password.

Check if your Wi-Fi is working on another device

  1. Use another device, like a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or gaming system, and try to connect to the same network.
  2. If you can connect, open a web page on that device and make sure that it can connect to the internet.

Other devices can connect to the internet

  1. Unplug the power from the TV meter.
  2. Leave it unplugged for at least 30 seconds, and then plug it back in again.
  3. When the TV meter powers up, sign in using your panelist account info.
  4. Wait 60 seconds and then try to reconnect to Wi-Fi.

Other devices can't connect to the internet

  1. Unplug the power from your wireless router.
  2. Leave it unplugged for a full minute, and then plug it back in.
  3. When the lights are lit as usual, connect the TV meter to the Wi-Fi.

TV meter remote control can't connect to the TV meter

Make sure that the phone or tablet is using the Screenwise Router Wi-Fi network.


TV meter doesn’t ask you to pair streaming devices

In the "Settings" menu, you can pair your devices any time.

If you use Wi-Fi, check that all devices are connected to the Wi-Fi from your Screenwise Router.

Smart TV

  1. Open the Wi-Fi settings on your smart TV.
  2. Choose the network name for your Screenwise Router.

Streaming devices

  1. Open the Wi-Fi settings on your streaming device.
  2. Choose the network name for your Screenwise Router.

Screenwise TV Meter

  1. Tap the Wi-Fi symbol on the TV meter screen.
  2. Tap the network name for your Screenwise Router.
