CBSDs can now operate in the 3650–3700 MHz portion of the CBRS band in the 150 km area around fixed-satellite service (FSS) receive-only earth stations.
Operations allowed based on aggregate interference
The 150 km area around each FSS for 3650-3700 MHz that was considered an exclusion zone is now a protection zone. This means grant requests in 3650-3700 MHz previously receiving a code 400 (Interference) can now be approved.
Tip: Appropriate EIRP is required for grant approval.

Deregistration & CBSD history
May 2021
Deregistration You can deregister a device directly from CBSD configuration within the SAS Portal. When you deregister a CBSD, it stops its transmissions. New grants for the same power and channel may be suspended until the next CPAS depending on nearby operators and PAL activity. CBSD history From the History tab, you can find all major CBSD events, like registration, deregistration, and grant history. Edit your CBSD configurationsRead more -
Find PPAs & PALs in the SAS Portal
April 2021
To help you plan your network, you can check the geographic areas that are protected from GAA interference for your PAL-protected CBSDs in the SAS Portal. PAL county boundaries are in the "Overlays" section of the PAL tab. Spectrum Availability heat maps show where you can't access spectrum because it's in a PPA. You can also find PPAs associated with a specific PAL on the map in the “PAL Protection Area(s)" panel in the Coex tab. In the active grants bar, PAL channels are marked with a “P” for easy identification. Use PALs in the SAS PortalRead more -

Improved channel planning, new DPA neighborhood overlays, and locked user management settings
February 2021
Ranked recommendations for channel planning A device's "Coex" tab shows a ranked recommendation of channels for a CBSD based on channels available and the SAS's assessment of channel quality, as a combination of the level of interference and EIRP available. Choose the best channels for a CBSD DPA neighborhoods added to CBRS overlays To learn more about CBRS spectrum availability in the United States, you can now use DPA neighborhood borders with the Google Maps interface. DPA neighborhood boundaries outline areas that are inside the neighborhood of at least one E-DPA. From the "CBRS" tab of th…Read more -

Changes in Google SAS response
May 6, 2020
Check CBSD interoperability Heartbeat interval changes to 60 seconds The heartbeatInterval recommended by the Google SAS has changed from 200 seconds to 60 seconds. A shorter heartbeat interval gives the CBSD more time to recover from a suspended grant or connectivity issue before it needs to stop transmission. We recommend you set the timeout for heartbeat response to 30 seconds. The CBSD should send another heartbeat request if it didn't receive a heartbeat response from the SAS after 30 seconds. Maximum batch request is now 120 Google SAS now processes single batch requests with up to 120 C…Read more -
