Migrate formula columns and custom conversion columns to the new Search Ads 360

Automatic formula column and custom column copying between the previous and new Search Ads 360

In the new Search Ads 360, formula columns and custom conversion columns have been replaced by custom columns. In January 2021, we started the process of copying formula columns and custom conversion columns in the previous Search Ads 360 to custom columns in the new Search Ads 360.

Using a custom column you can filter conversion columns to specific conversion actions that are “owned” by the account that owns the custom column. This can help you create highly relevant reporting columns for your conversion goals. Additionally, this functionality allows conversion actions that are owned by child accounts to be used in the filters for custom conversion columns.

Although the copying is automatic, there are some important things you should know about the process and some potential actions you might need to take during and after each sync.

How it works

  • We’ll copy your formula columns and custom conversion columns automatically.
  • If there’s an error during copying, it will appear in the previous or new Search Ads 360, where you made the change. For example, if you create a column in the previous Search Ads 360 and it results in an error, the error is displayed in the previous Search Ads 360. Conversely, if you edit a column in the new Search Ads 360 that results in an error, the error is displayed in the new Search Ads 360.

Sync status

  • A sync icon indicates that the column is currently being synced. This usually happens when the formula column has been created or edited recently. Check back later.
  • An error icon indicates that the column couldn’t be synced due to an error and that you need to take action to fix the issue. If you want to continue using the column, edit the formula column to see the error details and how to potentially fix the issue or manually create the column in the new Search Ads 360.
  • A warning icon indicates that you can wait for the error to resolve on its own, usually after the next sync.
  • No icon indicates that the column has been synced successfully.
To see the latest sync status, refresh the Search Ads 360 page in your web browser.
