About Microsoft Performance Max campaigns in Search Ads 360

Microsoft Performance Max is a campaign type in Search Ads 360 that maximizes performance and simplifies campaign management. Microsoft Performance Max campaigns pair your creative assets with targeting parameters to create new combinations, optimizing for the performance of your ad. You choose the strategy, input creative assets, and articulate your goals.

Note:
  • Floodlight Measurement is supported for campaigns, but not assets.
  • Read/Edit functionality is supported for Performance Max campaigns, but not Create.
  • Microsoft Performance Max asset group creation is supported in Search Ads 360.

Manage your Microsoft Performance Max campaigns

In Search Ads 360, you’ll edit Microsoft Performance Max campaigns and also create, edit, and delete sitelink and call extensions associated with Microsoft Performance Max campaigns. You can also enable Floodlight measurement and reporting.

Asset groups in Microsoft Performance Max campaigns

In Search Ads 360, you can view, create, and edit asset groups for Microsoft Performance Max campaigns. For more information on Microsoft Performance Max asset groups, view the Microsoft Help Center.

In campaigns associated with a Microsoft store, you can create an empty asset group. Campaigns that aren’t associated with a Microsoft store don’t support empty asset groups, meaning asset fields will need to be populated at the time of asset group creation.

Create an asset group in a Microsoft Performance Max campaign

  1. Sign in to your Search Ads 360 account.
  2. Navigate to a Microsoft Advertising client account.
  3. Select the Microsoft Performance Max campaign that needs new assets.
  4. In the left page menu, select Asset groups.
  5. Select the plus button  to either create a new asset group or copy an existing asset group.

Edit an asset group in a Microsoft Performance Max campaign

  1. Sign in to your Search Ads 360 account.
  2. Navigate to a Microsoft Advertising client account.
  3. In the left page menu, select Asset groups.
  4. Hover over the values in the "Asset details" column and select the pencil icon that appears.
  5. Update your desired asset values.
  6. Select Save.

Note: Listing groups in Microsoft Performance Max campaigns are read-only in Search Ads 360.
