About campaign budgets

Campaign budgets in Search Ads 360 are used to control how much you spend on your campaigns. Budgets can be set at the campaign level and will apply to all ad groups and keywords in that campaign.

Search Ads 360 lets you set an average daily budget for your campaigns, with the flexibility to change it at any time. Your daily budget is the average amount you’d like to spend each day over the course of the month.

How to decide on a daily budget

With Search Ads 360, you choose a daily budget for each campaign based on your advertising goals and the general amount you're comfortable spending each day.

Note: Social campaigns are only reporting visits, conversions, and other metrics.

Budgets on client accounts

In Search Ads 360, budgets are used to control your spend on the advertising platform. Instead, the setting is trafficked to the advertising platform, which uses it to control spend.

Google Ads campaign budgets

Google Ads lets you set an average daily budget for your campaigns, with the flexibility to change it at any time. Your daily budget is the average amount you’d like to spend each day over the course of the month.

While your spend may vary each day, you won’t pay more than your monthly charging limit, which is the daily budget you set, multiplied by the average number of days in a month. On days when your ads are likely to get you more traffic, you may spend up to 2 times your average daily budget. Those days are balanced by days when your spend is below your daily budget.

If you’re creating a Google Ads campaign with a specific start and end date, you can also set a total budget for the entire duration of the campaign. Campaign total budgets are currently available for Google Ads video campaigns only.

Microsoft advertising budgets

To specify a budget in a Microsoft advertising campaign, you set a daily spend target. Microsoft advertising uses this daily target to calculate a budget for a full month. While your actual spend for a specific day might be higher or lower than the target you specified, the overall spend for a month will not exceed the monthly amount Microsoft advertising calculated for you.

To prevent you from overspending your budget, Microsoft advertising automatically pauses your campaigns when you reach the amount your overall budget allows in a given day. Microsoft advertising will resume your campaigns the next day.

Yahoo! JAPAN Ads campaign budgets

You can set a daily budget in your Yahoo! JAPAN Ads campaign by choosing a budget delivery method. Setting up a budget delivery method is available only for advertisers who do not have bid strategies.

Baidu campaign budgets

Setting up a daily budget is an optional but recommended feature in the Baidu campaign settings. If you set a daily budget, Baidu requires a minimum of 50 Yuan. If you don't set a budget, the campaign inherits the budget that you set for the account in Baidu. It's possible that a campaign without a specified budget could use all or most of the account's budget and prevent other campaigns from displaying ads. In addition, Search Ads 360 doesn't display account-level budgets, so you won't be able to compare spend with your budget from within Search Ads 360.
