Upload custom dimensions using bulksheets

After your custom dimensions tables are defined, you can use a bulksheet to add a new custom dimension or edit an existing custom dimension. The overall process for adding or editing custom dimensions is as follows:

  1. Download an editable bulksheet that contains custom dimensions tables.
  2. In the downloaded bulksheet, add or edit custom dimensions.
  3. Upload the bulksheet.

Download a bulksheet with custom dimension tables

New Search Ads 360 displays the Manager account page, which contains data for all of the client accounts

  1. Sign in to your new Search Ads 360.
  2. Navigate to the required sub-manager account.
  3. On the Navigation menu, click Tools and settings icon Google Ads | tools [Icon].
  4. Under “Setup” , click Custom dimensions.
  5. Click the custom dimensions you want to download.
  6. Click the download icon , which appears above the reporting table.
  7. Select a file type from the list.

Search Ads 360 generates the report and either downloads the file to your browser's download directory or sends an email, depending on the delivery option you selected.

The downloaded bulksheet contains the following for each custom dimensions table you selected on the Search Ads 360 download page:

  • One bulksheet column for each custom dimensions column.
  • All of the rows that have already been defined for the custom dimensions tables. If all of the tables you selected are empty, there will be one empty row.

Bulk upload new values for existing custom dimensions

First, download and edit the template file for your custom dimension:

  1. Sign in to your new Search Ads 360.
  2. On the toolbar, click Google Ads | tools [Icon]Tools and settings.
  3. Under "Setup" click Custom dimensions to open the custom-dimensions table.
  4. Click the custom dimension you want to add new values to.

For example, if you have the custom dimension "City", you can add values for more city names.

Or if you've added the secondary dimension "Airport" via the UI, you might want to add values for "Airport" (e.g., LAX, SFO).
  5. At the top right of the table, click Download and choose the format for the downloaded file.

For example, if you're adding values to the "City" custom dimension and you choose .xlxs as the download format, you get a file similar to the following:

Custom dimension Edit Los Angeles -- 0123456789
Custom dimension Edit San Francisco -- 0123456789
Custom dimension Edit London -- 0123456789
Custom dimension Edit Paris -- 0123456789
  6. Edit the downloaded files as necessary.

For example, if you wanted to add values for the "Airport" secondary dimension, your edited file would look something like:
