length

length function returns the number of characters in text. Counting starts from 1 (not 0).

Syntax

length(text)

Parameters

text can be any of the following:

• Static text, such as 'GDN'.
• A Search Ads 360 variable that is a string, such as Keyword, Campaign and so on.
• An expression or formula column that returns a string.

Examples

• length("Hello World!") returns 12.
• length("") returns 0.
