View and fix bulk upload errors

You can view results and errors through the 'Upload' tab’s 'Pending actions' section. Errors can be caused by formatting issues in your bulksheet or by errors in the spreadsheet contents.

This article describes how to find your changes that the new Search Ads 360 couldn’t apply and their corresponding error messages. You’ll also see solutions for fixing the errors.

Tip: It’s always a good idea to preview your changes on upload before applying them to ensure that you are getting the results you expect.

View results

Once your file is uploaded, you’ll see a new entry for the upload file at the top of the table in the 'Pending actions' section on the 'Uploads' page. Applied changes will have a Download results link where you can view your changes. For uploaded bulksheets that you haven’t applied, you can choose to Apply, Discard or Download results.

Identify upload errors

  1. Click the tools and settings icon ''.
  2. Under 'Bulk actions', click Uploads.
  3. Find your spreadsheet in the table. If there were errors in uploading the spreadsheet, you'll see the number of errors in the 'Results' column.
  4. To see more details, click the link for the errors in the 'Results' column.
  5. Click the tile that has the number of errors, then review the reason for each error in the 'Status' column.

Fix common errors

Handle upload timeouts

  • Uploads time out after 2 hours of processing. If you're attempting to upload a large number of changes in a single spreadsheet, it’s possible that all rows won’t be processed within that period of time.
  • If a timeout occurs, you’ll need to download the results, remove the rows that were completed (rows that have been processed will have data present in the 'Results' column) and begin a new upload containing the rows that weren’t completed.

Upload misinterpreting required change

When you upload a spreadsheet, the new Search Ads 360 will automatically determine what change you intend to make. It's possible for Search Ads 360 to misinterpret your intent.

For example, you may create a bulksheet intended to update campaign budgets, but on preview you notice that Search Ads 360 thinks you are trying to create new campaigns.

This is often because Search Ads 360 is expecting you to use some columns that aren’t present in your spreadsheet. For more information, see 'Bulksheet schema changes in the new Search Ads 360'.

Common errors

The table below lists common upload errors and the steps you can take to address them.
