As in the previous Search Ads 360, your accounts can be organized in a hierarchy. Higher-level accounts don't directly contain campaigns or ads, but instead let you configure and access other account types. The new Search Ads 360 introduces some changes to how manager accounts and account hierarchy work.
Account types
The names for the different types of accounts have changed:
Previous Search Ads 360 | New Search Ads 360 |
---|---|
Agency account | Manager account |
Advertiser account | Sub-manager account |
Engine account | Client account |
Navigation
The navigation menu displays the chain of accounts for the account that you're currently viewing, starting with the manager account (visible only if you're signed in at the manager level). Learn how to switch to another account.
Workflows
You can now perform additional actions in your manager (previously agency) account that apply across all the sub-manager (previously advertiser) accounts under the manager. The following features are now available when you are scoped to a manager account:
- Labels
- Custom dimensions (previously business data)
- Custom columns (previously formula columns and custom conversions)
- Automated rules
- Saved views
- Change history
Ownership and visibility
Items and bulk actions in the new Search Ads 360 have owners. By default, the owner is the manager account or sub-manager account that you're signed into when you create the item.
Ownership affects when the item is editable or even visible:
- Items owned by a manager account are only visible when signed into that manager account. The items can be applied in sub-manager accounts and client accounts under the manager account.
- Items owned by a sub-manager account can be viewed when signed into that sub-manager account or the manager account above it. The item can only be applied in the sub-manager account or in client accounts below it.
Changes are visible in change history regardless of ownership.
