Can't use Google Sign-in for web query in Office365

If you use Office 365 and cannot get web query to authenticate, there may be an issue with the Office embedded browser. To address this issue, you need to update your Internet Explorer security settings and then sign in again to Internet Explorer.

First, check your Internet Explorer security settings:

  1. In Internet Explorer,  open Internet options.

  2. On the Security tab, add *.google.com as a trusted site.

  3. Check that protected mode (default) is not enabled for trusted sites.

  4. Close Excel.

  5. Close Internet Explorer.

Next, sign in to Internet Explorer so that Excel's built-in browser can use the authentication that you just set up in Internet Explorer.

  1. Reopen Internet Explorer

  2. Paste in the web query URL and sign in.

  3. Wait until the web query results load.

  4. In Excel, try the web query.
