Get reports for dynamic creatives with profile fields

Dynamic creative reporting provides the ability to view how your dynamic creative is performing, especially after making changes to profile field content. Dynamic creative reporting is available through DCM Report Builder.

Instead of just using the Creative ID dimension, as you would for standard rich media creatives, dynamic creative reporting also uses the reporting dimensions to pull more granular creative information. Dynamic creative reporting can also pull in most rich media reporting dimensions and metrics, including impressions, clicks, and conversions.

To create and run a dynamic creative report:

  1. In the Report Builder tab, click New Report.

  2. Replace "Untitled Report" with a report name. This report name will be used within the UI if you choose to save this report for later running.

  3. In the Report properties section, fill out the following fields:

    1. File name: The file name is the name of the file that will be generated
    2. File type: Select CSV or Excel
    3. Date range: Select the appropriate date range for which you want to view metrics
  4. In the Report setup section, fill out the following fields:

    1. Report template: Select Dynamic from the dropdown. Selecting the dynamic template automatically modifies the preset filters, dimensions, and metrics.
    2. Filters: Filters are used to narrow down the scope of the report. The Dynamic template presets the below filters, but you can easily add or remove any filters as necessary.

      • Advertiser: Name of DCM Advertiser
      • Campaign: Name of DCM Campaign
      • Dynamic Profile: Name of dynamic profile in Studio
    3. Dimensions: Dimensions translate to column headers in the report. The Dynamic template presets the below dimensions, but you can easily add or remove dimensions as necessary.

      • Dynamic Field Value 1: This dimension correlates to reporting dimension 1 as set in your dynamic profile
      • Dynamic Field Value 2: This dimension correlates to reporting dimension 2 as set in your dynamic profile
      • Dynamic Field Value 3: This dimension correlates to reporting dimension 3 as set in your dynamic profile
      • Dynamic Field Value 4: This dimension correlates to reporting dimension 4 as set in your dynamic profile
      • Dynamic Field Value 5: This dimension correlates to reporting dimension 5 as set in your dynamic profile
      • Dynamic Field Value 6: This dimension correlates to reporting dimension 6 as set in your dynamic profile
    4. Metrics: Metrics are standard units of measure applied to your campaign. You can easily add or remove metrics as necessary. See Report on Dynamic Creatives in the DCM Help Center for more information.

    5. Activities: Activities are related to specific conversions setup under your Advertiser. Select any conversion activities for which you want to view data, and then select the Activity Metrics that you want displayed for those conversion activities.
  5. In the Schedule section, you have the option of scheduling the report to run at set intervals.

    1. Select the active checkbox to activate the scheduling options
    2. Set up the scheduling according to your preferences
  6. In the Delivery section, you have the option of emailing the report to yourself, as well as other users. This option is most frequently used in the case of scheduled reports.

  7. Click Run now or Save depending on whether you want this report to be available for running at a later date. The report will be downloaded to your machine.
