Create or edit profiles

To create a reading group, track progress, and earn prizes, use your profile. To support multiple users, you can create multiple profiles on the same device.

Important:

• You can currently only create and edit profiles on your Android device.
• When you create a profile, the profile and its data exist only on your device. If you delete the app, you delete your profile and progress associated with it.

Set up your first Read Along profile

To create your first profile:

1. In the library, tap a story.
2. Read the story.
3. After you read the story, Diya helps you create your profile.
   1. Tap Open camera .
   2. To allow Read Along to take pictures and record video, tap Allow.
   3. To take a photo, tap Camera .
   4. To confirm, tap the check mark .

Add a new profile

To create a new profile:

1. Open the Read Along app .
2. At the upper-right corner, tap the profile photo Add new profile.
3. To take a photo, tap Camera .
4. To confirm, tap the Check mark .

Switch profiles on the same device

1. Open the Read Along app .
2. At the upper-right corner, tap the profile photo.
3. Tap the profile that you want to use.

Use Read Along without a profile

Important: If you don’t create a profile before you start to read, your progress isn’t saved.

To read without a profile:

1. Open the Read Along app .
2. At the upper-right corner, tap the profile photo.
3. Tap Use without a profile.

Edit your profile

Once you create a profile, you can edit it at any time.

Change your profile photo

1. Open the Read Along app .
2. Tap Menu   Change photo .
3. To take a new photo, tap the Camera .
4. To confirm, tap the Check mark .

Add or change your profile name

Important: If you create a new account and aren't required to add a profile name, you can go to the menu and add a name.

To add a name to your profile:

1. Open the Read Along app .
2. Tap Menu   Add name .
3. To verify your identity, enter your Google Account email and password.

4. Enter a name for your profile.
5. To confirm your profile name, tap the Arrow .

To change your profile name:

1. Open the Read Along app .
2. Tap Menu    Change name .
3. To verify your identity, enter your Google Account email and password. 
   • Learn more about Google Accounts.
4. Type in your new profile name.
5. To confirm your new profile name, tap the Arrow .
