For the paid search element, is there a daily limit? I see two answers on two different pages.
1
I am trying to create a CSE instance and I see that there is a paid version which may suit my purposes better. BUT, I see two different answers on if there is a daily limit on the number of inquiries I can make. One at https://developers.google.com/custom-search/docs/paid_element, and the other at https://support.google.com/programmable-search/answer/9069107?hl=en&ref_topic=4513742

See the attached screen shots. These two seem in conflict or am I missing something?

Thanks
Adam

Deepak,

Thanks a lot for the answer. If I am reading this right, I can set up a CSE using the first API and, for $5/1K queries, have an unlimited number of queries. Is that right?

Where the results don't come from the full corpus, yes?

And, can you tell me whether google sets cookies on the querying browser when we use that API?

Thanks again for the help, I really appreciate it.

Hi Adam,

1) I can set up a CSE using the first API and, for $5/1K queries, have an unlimited number of queries. Is that right?
A) What do you mean by first API. Please clarify?
There are 2 types of API i.e i) normal API and ii) Site Restricted API, please review the document below for details:

2) Then the restrictions would be per this: https://support.google.com/programmable-search/answer/70392?hl=en
Where the results don't come from the full corpus, yes?
A) It's not restrictions but they way Google.com and programmable Search Engine results are served. It's documented the difference between Google.com and Programmable Search Engine.

3) Can you tell me whether google sets cookies on the querying browser when we use that API?
A) When using browser, Yes.

Thanks

Deepak,

Thanks a lot, very helpful, your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Maybe I am using the wrong term, "API." The CSE isn't an API?  At any rate, with that first CSE version, I can have unlimited queries for $5/1K queries without ads--is that right?

Can you tell me a bit more about the cookie google sets when we make this call? Is this a personal identifier or just functional stuff?

And, can you shed some light on why my CSE, Plumb.one, isn't seeing any ads?

Thanks a lot
Adam

A) Please review the document below to understand the current offering which has a detailed explanation for which API involves cost and which API does not cost:

A) Can you please provide me with your Programmable Search Engine ID which can be located from:

Deepak,

Thanks for the help--here is our CSE number: dad3447e24d5af3f7

Can you perhaps point me to somewhere less general for information on what is in the google cookie that you set when we search through the CSE? The general Google privacy policy is wayyyy too much to sort through. Any kind of technical doc that describes it with less verbiage around it?

My developers see mainly just functional stuff in the cookie, and I want to confirm that with you.

Thanks

Hi Adam,

1) Can you shed some light on why my CSE, Plumb.one, isn't seeing any ads? dad3447e24d5af3f7
A) As you have integrated your Programmable Search Engine with your Adsense account and not seeing Adsense Ads because to ensure high quality experience for our advertiser, we are reviewing Programmable Search Engine Ads traffic quality. It may take a short period to resume Adsense Ads and revenue sharing.

We have internally fixed this and the Adsense Ads and revenue sharing will start soon. But, I do not have any ETA for the same.

You do not need to do anything at your end. Once resumed, Adsense Ads will automatically be served in your results and revenue sharing will begin.

A) That document is also applicable to Programmable Search Engine and we do not have any seperate documentation for this.

Thanks
