Information for parents of children under 13

When your child uses their Fitbit Ace LTE, Google (“we”) process their information as described in our Privacy Policy and the Privacy Notice for Google Accounts and Profiles Managed with Family Link, for Children under 13 (or applicable age in your country), including these key points:

We will collect and store information about how your child uses their Fitbit Ace LTE.  This includes information like:

  • Your child’s Google Account data, like their name;
  • Your child’s health and wellness data, like step count and heart rate; 
  • Your child’s location; 
  • The contacts you allow your child to call and message;
  • Call and message logs, if your child uses their Fitbit Ace LTE to make and receive calls or send and receive messages;  
  • If you turn on the friends feature, the friends your child connects with using their Fitbit Ace LTE; and
  • Information about the device itself and how it’s working, including device identifier and IP address.

We use this information to, for example:

  • Deliver the Fitbit Ace LTE service to you and your child;
  • Improve the quality of our services and develop new ones;
  • Improve security by protecting against fraud and abuse; and
  • Conduct analytics and measurement to understand how our services are used.
     

Information we collect may be shared outside of Google in limited circumstances. We do not share personal information with companies, organizations, and individuals outside of Google except with consent, with your family group on Google, for external processing or for legal reasons as described in our Privacy Policy and the Family Link Disclosure for Parents of Children under 13 (or applicable age in your country)

 

Payments on Fitbit Ace LTE

If your child adds a payment card to their Fitbit Ace LTE, your child’s data will be collected, processed and shared as described in the Google Payments Privacy Notice. In order for Google to provide the payment features of the Fitbit Ace LTE, we will collect and store information about your child including payment method and transaction data. We use this information to, for example, provide the payment features of the Fitbit Ace LTE and to improve security by protecting against fraud and abuse. 

 

We will not share your child’s personal information publicly, but information we collect may be shared outside of Google in limited circumstances as described in the Google Payments Privacy Notice, including with the payment method’s issuer, network, payment processors, merchants and other third parties, as necessary to add this payment method to your child’s Fitbit Ace LTE, process your child’s transactions, and for fraud and risk purposes.

 

As a reminder, you may exercise your rights over this data, or contact us with any questions, using the information provided in the Privacy Notice for Google Accounts and Profiles Managed with Family Link, for Children under 13 (or applicable age in your country).

Your child may use their Fitbit Ace LTE to interact with family and friends who also have a Fitbit Ace LTE, and to call and message others.  Your child may share information with their family, friends and contacts when using these features, but Fitbit Ace LTE does not allow your child to share their personal information publicly.
