Pointy for Auto-Star

Pointy is available as a free download direct to your point of sale system for applicable POS integrations. Download Pointy and scan your products as normal to add them to your product catalog and to your Google Business Profile. They will also have a better opportunity of showing up in product-related searches on Google.

An optional premium feature is ProductAds, where you can create ads for all your products in two clicks.

Note: In order for Pointy to work for your store, you must be using UPC/EAN barcodes on your products.

Note: Star-Plus is also known as “PharmaClik POS” or “POS ONE”

McKesson Users Only - Follow these steps first, before installing Pointy

  1. Select the Utilities menu option.
  2. Select Add to Menu
 

 
  1. Select Product Management
  2. Check the Pointy option
  3. Select Add
  4. Select Finish
 

 
  1. Select Product Management menu option
  2. Select Sign up for Pointy application from the menu
 

 
  1. If the Add to Menu option is not accessible please contact McKesson Canada Pharmacy Technology Solutions at 1-800-387-6093 Option 3. A Customer Care agent will be happy to assist.

How to install Pointy

  1. To install Pointy on your Star-Plus POS you need to be operating version 8.3.1 with latest patches or higher. (Instructions here)
 
  1. Once your POS is up to date please locate the Pointy Setup Wizard on your POS on the Till Apps and Parameters Tab of the Star-Plus menu. 
  

 
  1. Work through the signup Wizard, following the instructions as they appear.
 
  1. Please fill out the owner information, store information and store hours and click next.
 

 

 
  1. Review all the information entered before it is sent to Pointy.

 
  1. If the setup is successful you will see the below screen.  It will not have any inventory or sales uploads done just yet, this is okay. This will be done automatically:
  • Inventory is uploaded at 5:00 a.m. daily
  • Sales are uploaded every 10 minutes throughout the day.
 

 

 
  1. To complete the signup process please go to your emails and:
    1. Verify your email address
    2. Log into your Pointy page

FAQ

1. How do I upgrade my Star-Plus POS?

Please contact your POS support provider to upgrade your POS. 

2. How do I get the Pointy setup Wizard on my POS? Where is it located? 

The Pointy Setup Wizard can typically be found on the Till Apps and Parameters Tab of the Star-Plus menu. If you don’t see it after you upgrade please contact your POS Support provider. 

3. What do I do if after completing the sign up steps the Pointy status is “Not OK”?

4. What information/data does Pointy receive when I connect it to my POS?

Once you have connected to Pointy, we find an image and description to match each of your products from our comprehensive database. This then goes on your Pointy Page. To get the most out of Pointy, we need access to your POS inventory, stock levels and sales history (to estimate stock levels on your page). Your store's data is important to us and we ensure that it is protected at all times.

5. How do I access my Pointy account?

After you sign up to Pointy you will receive an email from us to create a login for your Pointy Page. Once you have created your login details, you can access your Pointy page by going to https://www.pointy.com/login.

6. How much does Pointy cost?

The core Pointy service is completely free for integration partner users. The core service includes your Pointy Page, retailer dashboard, and access to SWIS.
