Pointy for CSY

Pointy is available as a free download direct to your point of sale system for applicable POS integrations.

Download Pointy and scan your products as normal to add them to your product catalog and to your Google Business Profile. They will also have a better opportunity of showing up in product-related searches on Google.

An optional premium feature is ProductAds, where you can create ads for all your products in two clicks.

Note: In order for Pointy to work for your store, you must be using UPC/EAN barcodes on your products.


Getting started:

  1. Please make sure your EPOS system is up to date.
  2. To access the configuration, you will need to launch “System Options” within Vector Manager. 

Vector Manager > Manager > System Options > System > General Options (2) 

 

  1. After configuring the options below, press the “Save” button.  
  • Enable Pointy Export
  • Export  
  • Price Level 
  • Export Departments 
  • Report Group: 
 
  1. After the setup and configuration is complete, you will be able to perform an export to Pointy. This  can be accessed through the location below. 

Vector Manager > Utilities > File Export > Pointy Export  

 
  1. When you select “Pointy Export”, you first need to select the branch. Then press “Sign Up”.  
 

When you press “Sign Up” there will be a question on the screen “Have you already got a Retailer Key for this branch?

 

5.1. Sign up option 1: Already a Pointy customer

If you have already signed up to Pointy directly then you would already have a retailer key. Please follow instructions here.

When you have your retailer key press “Yes” on the next pop-up  window and enter their “Retailer Key” which Pointy issued to you. 

 

5.2. Sign up option 2: New to Pointy

 

If you have not signed up with Pointy directly, press “No” and proceed with the sign-up process. 

You will need to fill in the information on the form provided and enter their opening times for the store. Press the  button “Sign-up” when finished. 

 
  1. After the sign-up process is complete, please select, “Export Stock”  and “Export Sales”.  
 
  1. To complete the signup process please check you have received an email from Pointy and verify your email address.

  1. I am already using Pointy, how do I switch over to use Pointy with Vector?

If you are already using Pointy and wish to use the CSY integration please reach out to Pointy support at support@pointy.com.

The email should include your pharmacy name and address and a brief explanation of your query eg. ”I would like to connect my current Pointy account to the CSY Pointy integration.”

The Pointy agent will associate your current Pointy page to the correct integration.

The pointy support agent will then give you your retailer key.

You may now complete the steps above ensuring you follow step 5.1. Sign up option 1: Already a Pointy customer

 

  1. What Version of Vector do I need to be on to install Pointy?

Vector 7:

If your version is below the  number detailed below, please perform a Vector Update at a time that suits you.

If you are unsure where to check the version of Vector, please click the “About” button within Vector  Manager.

 
  1. How do I do a Vector Update?

 If you do not have your POS setup for auto updates, please click on Vector Update in your back office software.

  1. What does clicking Export Stock mean for me?

Pointy will receive an export of the stock information, it consists of the following. 

  • Preferred Barcode 
  • Unit Price (based on the price level that was configured during the configuration) • Preferred supplier cost price ex VAT 
  • Available quantity 
 
  1. What does clicking Export Sales mean for me?

Pointy will receive the sales data for the stock items. The information that is exported  is the following. 

  • Preferred Barcode 
  • Unit Price (based on the price level that was configured during the configuration) • Quantity Sold 
  • Date and Time of the sale 
 
  1. Can Pointy export be done at a later time/date?
  • Yes, this can also be setup as a scheduled task.  
 
  1. What does each configuration option in step 3 mean for me and my POS?
 
  • Enable Pointy Export: Enable this option to turn on the export functionality to Pointy. 
  • Export: This controls what is being exported, you have the option of either “All Items” or  “Departments”.  
  • Price Level: Select the price level you wish to be listed by Pointy. 
  • Export Departments: If you have selected “Departments” against the “Export” option, you will need  to list the departments you wish to include in the export. Only items assigned to these departments  will be exported to Pointy. 
  • Report Group: A report group can be selected, any error reports with the Pointy Integration will be  emailed to that group. This only applies when the export is running via CSY Scheduler. If it is being  run from Vector Manager manually, any errors will display on the screen. (NOTE: Report Groups are  located via Utilities > Report Schedule > Report Group within Vector Manager).
