Google+ settings

You can change your Google+ settings by opening the Navigation menu and choosing Settings.

Note: You can only see and change some settings on certain platforms. If you can't find something that you're looking for, please try a different device. In the Android app, you'll need to select an account after you've opened Settings.

Profile settings

You can choose what information is shown on your Google+ profile. You can also edit your Google+ profile by navigating to your profile.

You can also choose whether or not to help others discover your profile in search results.

Notification settings

You can turn notifications on or off based on specific actions, such as when someone mentions you in a post or invites you to a community.

You can also turn notifications on or off for occasional updates from Google+, such as highlights, people you might know, and other Google+ activity and friend suggestions.

Bear in mind that:

  • You may not receive certain low-priority notifications on all devices.
  • Google+ push notifications may not be available for all browsers.

Stream settings

You can choose to show your home screen in single-column layout all the time, or with multiple columns if your screen size is big enough.

Some accessibility settings, such as heading navigation, work best with the single-column layout.

Note: You can only see and change this setting using a computer.

Photo and video settings

You can choose whether or not to include geo-location by default on photos that you share.

You can choose whether or not people can download the photos and videos that you share.

You can also choose whether or not photos that you share publicly on Google+ can be used as background images by Google. Unless you change this setting, photos shared publicly may be featured on Google products such as Chromecast and Google Fiber. We'll email you if one of your photos is featured.

Sharing settings

You can change visibility settings for your +1 activity.

Location settings

You can use the "Location" settings in Google+ to change your Google account location settings.

Privacy settings

You can manage your search history and activity on Google. You'll get a more customised experience with search history and Google activity on, but you can clear this information and adjust these settings.

Contact settings

You can choose whether or not people you connect with on Google+ are added to your Android contacts.

You can also turn "Improve suggestions" on or off, which lets Google use data from your device to make suggestions for you in Google+.

Note: You can only see and change these settings using the Android app.

Apps with Google+ Sign-In

You can manage apps that you've connected to your Google account from the Google+ settings page.

Note: You can only access this setting using the Android app.

General settings

You can choose who can comment on your public posts.

You can also make changes to your Activity log. The Activity log lets you manage and delete your activities on Google+, such as comments, +1s or posts. You may need to click Manage Google+ activity first.

Shared endorsements in ads

You can turn shared endorsements in ads on or off. Learn more.

Circle stream settings

You can choose whether or not to show circle streams in your Home menu.

Note: To see circle streams in the iOS app, open the circle for which you want to see a stream, touch the Menu icon and choose View circle stream.
