Sign Language Interpreter app

Users who prefer sign language can invite interpreters to speak and sign for them during a Hangout. They'll always see their interpreter at the top right of the window, and they'll become the focus of the Hangout whenever their interpreter speaks for them.

The Sign Language Interpreter App is available in the original video call interface.

Request interpreting services

  1. On your computer, open the Sign Language Interpreter App
  2. Under the "Send invite as [your email address]" section, search for names or email addresses of the people you want to invite.
  3. Click Invite.
  4. Select Signer.
  5. Someone in the video call who has nominated themselves as an Interpreter will speak on your behalf during the video call.

Offer interpreting services

  1. On your computer, open the Sign Language Interpreter App.
  2. Under the "Send invite as [your email address]" section, search for names or email addresses of the people you want to invite.
  3. Click Invite.
  4. Select Interpreter.
  5. Wait for someone to nominate you to interpret for them.
