Reshare a post on Google+

When you find a great post on Google+, you can reshare it with people you choose. Other people can share your posts, too, unless you turn off resharing.

Share someone else's post

If you like what someone else posted on Google+, you can reshare it.

People can choose whether or not others can reshare their posts. If you aren't able to reshare what someone else wrote, they may have turned resharing off.

Android app
  1. Open the Google+ app Google+ icon.
  2. Find the post you want to share.
  3. Near the bottom left corner of the post, touch the share icon .
  4. Type any comment you'd like to include with the post.
  5. Touch the blue text next to "To" and choose who can see the post.
  6. Touch the send arrow .
Computer
  1. Open Google+.
  2. Find the post you want to share.
  3. Near the bottom left corner of the post, click the share icon .
  4. Type any comment you’d like to include with the post.
  5. In the "To:" box, choose who can see the post > Share in the bottom left corner of the post.
Mobile browser
  1. Open Google+.
  2. Find the post you want to share.
  3. Near the bottom right corner of the post, touch the share icon .
  4. To choose who you want to share with, touch the text next to your picture (it may say "Public" or show people you've previously shared with).
    • You can choose a person or circle from the list by touching the name, or touch the Communities tab to choose a community.
    • To search for a person, circle, or community, touch the search icon on the right.
    • When you've selected who you want to share with, touch the checkmark in the top right corner.
  5. In the top right corner, touch the send icon .
iPhone/iPad app
  1. Open the Google+ app Google+ icon.
  2. Touch the post you want to share.
  3. Near the bottom left corner of the post, touch the share icon .
  4. In the "To:" box, choose who can see the post > type any comment you want to add.
  5. In the top right corner, touch Share.

Stop people from sharing your post

If you want to make sure people can't reshare something you posted, you can change the setting of that post.

Android app
  1. Open the Google+ app Google+ icon.
  2. Touch the post you don't want people to share.
  3. Touch the menu icon/button  > Disable reshares.
Computer
  1. Open Google+.
  2. Click the post you don’t want people to share.
  3. In the top right corner of the post, click the down arrow  > Disable reshares.
Mobile browser

You can't turn off resharing on a particular post from mobile web. Please use the Google+ app or a desktop computer instead.

iPhone/iPad app
  1. Open the Google+ app Google+ icon.
  2. Touch the post you don't want people to share.
  3. In the upper right corner of your post, touch the gear icon  > Disable reshares.
