Add, edit or delete a Google+ comment

When someone shares a post, you can add a comment to join the conversation. And if you don't like what you've written, you can edit or delete your comment.

You can also use your settings to choose who can comment on your Google+ posts.

Add a comment

You can comment on posts that others have shared on Google+, and everyone who can see the post can read your comment. If you want to know who the original post was shared with, you can see who a post was shared with.

  1. On your computer, open Google+.
  2. Find the post that you want to comment on.
  3. At the bottom of the post, click Add a comment.
  4. Type your comment and click Post.

Edit a comment

If you want to change something that you've written, you can edit the comment that you left on a post. You can't edit other people's comments.

  1. On your computer, open Google+.
  2. Find the post that you've commented on.
  3. At the top right, click More More and then Edit.
  4. Make your changes and then click Update.

Delete a comment

If you want to delete a comment that you've left on a post, you can remove it.

  1. On your computer, open Google+.
  2. Find the post that you've commented on.
  3. At the top right of the comment, click More  More and then Delete comment and then Delete.

Manage comments on your posts

Choose who can comment on your Google+ posts

You can control who can comment on your public posts. People who weren't selected may still be able to comment on posts that mention them.

  1. On your computer, open Google+.
  2. At the top left, click Menu Menu and then Settings.
  3. Next to 'Who can comment on your public posts?', click the down arrow Down Arrow.
  4. Choose who can comment from 'Anyone', 'Your circles', 'Extended circles', 'Only you' and 'Custom'.

Stop people from commenting on a post

If you want to make sure that people can't comment on something that you've shared, you can change the setting for that post.

  1. On your computer, open Google+.
  2. Click the post that you don't want people to comment on.
  3. At the top right, click More More and then Disable comments.

Delete a comment left on your post

You can delete a comment that someone has left on your post.

  1. On your computer, open Google+.
  2. Open the post with the comment that you want to delete.
  3. Click More More and then Delete comment.
  4. Click Delete.

Delete and report a comment, and block the user

You can delete a comment that someone has left on your post, report the comment and block the commenter in one action. You can also choose to delete all recent comments by the user from your posts.

  1. On your computer, open Google+.
  2. Open the post with the comment that you want to delete from a user you want to report and block.
  3. Click More More and then Delete, report and block.
  4. Optional: Select 'Also delete recent comments by this user'.
  5. Click Block.
