Use Chromecast with your Pixel Slate

You can use your Pixel Slate to view your favorite videos, photos, websites, and more on your TV using Chromecast.

Set up Chromecast with your device

  1. Turn on your TV.
  2. Plug in your Chromecast.
  3. Using the Input or Source button on your TV remote, change the input on your TV until you see the Chromecast home screen.
  4. If you haven't yet, sign in to your device.
  5. From the Google Play Store Google Play store icondownload the Google Home app  on your device.
  6. Follow these steps to set up your Chromecast with your device. 

Cast from your device

Cast from your Chrome browser

Find out how to cast videos from tabs in your Chrome browser to your TV.

Cast from your desktop

To cast from your device's desktop:

  1. At the bottom right, select the time to open the status area.
  2. Select Cast devices available.
  3. Select your Chromecast or other Google Cast device.
  4. Select the window you'd like to cast.
  5. Select Share. The window will appear on your TV screen.

To stop casting:

  1. At the bottom right, select the time to open the status area.
  2. In the row with the Cast icon, select Stop.

Cast videos stored on Google Drive

  1. Select the Launcher Launch icon and then Up Arrow Up arrow and thenFiles Files.
  2. Select My Drive to open your Google Drive folder.
  3. Double-click or tap the file you want to cast.
  4. In the window that opens, select the Cast icon Cast icon to cast videos, pictures, and more .
  5. On the pop-up screen that opens, choose the Google Cast device you want to cast to.

To stop casting your video:

  1. In the video player, select the Cast icon Cast icon to cast videos, pictures, and more .
  2. Select This computer.

Troubleshoot problems

Chromecast won't connect to my network

If your Chromecast is having trouble connecting to your network, check to see if your router is compatible with Chromecast.

I'm seeing the message "No Cast devices found"
